Project Engineer, Systems Engineering
Job Description:
We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals with hands-on experience in conceptualization, design, and engineering of research products and prototypes including electrical, mechanical, and/or optical hardware components. The job responsibilities include:
- Lead technology/product development from concept to functional prototype
- Architectural design of mechanical, electrical, electronic and optical sub-systems
- Prototyping, assembly, test and verification
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
Job Requirements:
- BS degree in Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in development of mechatronic systems, including hardware and software design and integration. Product development experience in electronic products, medical devices, or automation is a desired.
- Experience with injection-molding, casting, machining, and other processes for production and prototyping. Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk products is a plus.
- Experience in analog/digital design and developing microprocessor or DSP-based systems. Hands-on experience in electronic fabrication and prototyping. Optical design and assembly experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in developing embedded firmware and upper level applications software.
- Ability to think and work independently from concepts, ideas and sketches and bring complex ideas into reality.
- Good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to multi-task effectively in a stimulating, multi-disciplinary, cutting edge science and engineering environment
- US citizenship is desired
